The construction sector is a vital industry for economic growth; it accounts for 10% of the UK's GDP and employs 1.5 million people. Despite a welcomed increase in demand in recent years, the industry still faces considerable challenges. Chief among these are the problems posed by widening skills gaps and the difficulty employers face in recruiting to key occupations.
Collab Group regularly engages with key employers and trade associations, including Build UK and the CBI, to ensure we are aware of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
We are well placed to advise on the implications of the apprenticeship levy for both large and small employers looking to upskill their existing workforce or train new members of staff.
